The draperies are pretty, but not what I wanted or expected. They do not meet the description of the seller. This fabric is smooth and shiny. Dupioni silk is not shiny, and resembles shantung silk with raised threads in the weave. The pleats are well done, but are too far apart, so that only one of the two that should attach to the carrier part of the traverse rod can be used (photo #1). Also important is that the outside edges of each panel are far too short -- the distance from the last pleat to the end of the drape should be no less than 3 inches, in order for the drape to be turned toward the wall at the outside in order to hide the rod (photo #2), and to lap one behind the other at the point where the 2 panels meet in the center of the window (photo #3). The hems are completely closed, even on the outside edges, so I cannot insert drapery weights. I will have additional panels that will not be moveable to hide the outside edge of each side. If that were not so, I would be returning these poorly made draperies.I really liked these drapes--very soft, silky, & heavy. Egg white is silvery in color because of the liner which is grey. But I had 2 problems--I bought them because they are advertised as being free of toxic chemicals but they smelled like petroleum. I don't think it would bother most people but I am very sensitive. And they were too wide. I needed 2 panels 45 in. each plus extra for fullness so I thought 52 in. would be right but these actually measure 57 in. wide. If it hadn't been for the smell I would have kept them & altered them. The company approved my return request & it cost me $35 to send back. Even though I ordered from Cololeaf they came from Chadmade.True blackout, fully lined, gorgeous ‘custom’ curtains for a fraction of the custom price. These are extremely well made, include adjustable hooks and are measured perfectly. I ordered one set to "test" them to see if I liked them...I am now on my fourth order. They are heavy and luxurious. You will be happy with your order!
